Welcome to the Europa Study Unit Web Site.

From the ESU Treasurer (and Deputy Webmaster), Dana Roper:
Welcome again to to the ESU website. The ESU meeting in Richmond was a lot of fun, and we got some constructive suggestions for the site.
Executive Secretary Don Smith (on the right, being presented the award in Steve Luster's absence by Dana Roper) was presented with the Presidents Award for his many, many years of outstanding service to the Unit. Don, we can't thank you enough!!

Our President and Editor-In-Chief Steve Luster is recovering from cancer treatment. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers as we move forward with the Unit. We hope to announce that he has resumed his duties shortly. He is staying in touch via email and wishes everyone well.
Meantime, keep checking out the Members Area, where we are adding material regularly. It has now been updated with links to the ESU Reference Materials (Handbooks, Monographs and Souvenirs)!

EUROPA 2010 - Children's Stories

    What is Europa / CEPT?

EUROPA stamps are special stamps issued by European postal administrations / enterprises under the aegis of PostEurop which have Europe as their central theme. EUROPA stamps should underline cooperation in the domain of posts, particularly as regards the promotion of philately. They also contribute to making the public aware of the common roots, culture and history of Europe and its common goals. As such, EUROPA stamp issues are among the most collected and most popular stamps in the world.

What is the Europa Study Unit?
An association of philatelists devoted to the study of philatelic manifestations of the Europa ideal of political, economic, and social integration of Europe. The Europa collector may limit themselves to just the annual 'themed' issues for Europa, but an expanded collection will also include forerunners (such as advocates of unity, previous attempts at unity, etc.) and current issues that commemorate organizations and events that relate to a unification of Europe.

We are an affiliate of the American Philatelic Society (APS) and the American Topical Association (ATA). You do not need to join those organizations to become a member of the ESU.

Items of Interest

The picture below is what appears on the main portal page of the EU website. It's a rather striking depiction of Europa opening the door to a brighter future.
Next is the new motto of the EU - "United in Diversity".
